A parallel development emerges… also a hand book or field guide. As with Sorrow for Beginners, please feel free to write a passage to accompany the image if you feel so inclined.
This field guide series is very interesting. This one appears to have a how-to chapter on building burial jungle gems.

Finally a proper step-by-step. There are so many tricky things that can go wrong when building your own. Erosion, refraction, venting to allow for ascension of the spirit, and on and on. Best to have an expert lead you through the process.
Delphine planned her funeral the way other young women planned their weddings. Designer casket catalogs papered her coffee table. Personally hand-made pall bearer paper dolls walked her living room runway each evening. Fabric samples for the pall itself lined her walk-in closet. And, of course, her U-Tube was permanently tuned to the Memorial Music Library. Because, while some days you feel like a dirge, some days you don't; and a girl had to have options.
Delphine's abiding zest for her funeral continued until one mournful Monday. One morning, right there in Bloomingdale's, to her everlasting sorrow the unruly, squirming evidence of the secret, pleasurable aching for her own final celebration escaped from her handbag, rolled off the lingerie counter (where Delphine had been contemplating some very expensive, very risque attire to be worn on THAT SPECIAL DAY) flew down the escalator right out onto 5th Avenue and hopped a bus to Queens.
These days, if you are looking for Delphine, she will be found, though a dismal relic of her former self, quietly sitting at the third table next to the big plate glass window in Yakov's Fine Wine and Dine, eyes fixed on the streets of Queens ever searching, always hoping for one glance of her beloved, unruly, lost desire.

The music soars and the
mind casts a net over
the druthers and mishaps and events of a day
there might be something more you're wanting
if only you knew what it was
