this reminds me of rauch's work on paper. did you have a chance to look at a copy of that book you gave me for my bday last year? i really like the detail in spots, like the neg trees above the roof of the trailer and the shutters and the screen door and the shadows under the roof eaves. and the realism of the ubiquitous little janky undersized window in the kitchen over the sink. phew.

I never saw the Rauch book, but just assumed it was amazing. Thanks for the insights, I think of the wee window as a bathroom window, but kitchen works too. Lends credibility. As does the arch or diamond-shaped aperture in the door.
I like that link Dan… There's an erasure quality to the trees that's beautiful… physical. They feel like they're moving, like the mobile home could be a speeding train, but it's totally stationary at the same time. Beautiful Noah.
